Randy Bergett and "Hershey"

Hershey is a 14yr old castrated male Springer Spaniel. Hershey had been a "picture of health" until mid 2007 when he began having trouble getting up and down. It was a visit to Randy's personal acupuncturist that inspired him to begin searchng for a veterinary acupuncturist. Hershey's first treatment was on 9/21/07. Randy noticed an immediate improvement and Hershey seemed to be in less pain than before. Hershey has responded favorably to every acupuncture treatment he has had at NTVS Randy reports his appetite has improved and Hershey "smiles" more these days. Randy comments, "If acupuncture helps me, then why not for Hershey?" "at this stage in his life it's all about making him comfortable..."

Cindy Regen and "Magnolia"

Magnolia is a 14yr old spayed female cat. She has had chronic low back pain for several years. Cindy feels that possibly injections given into Magnolia’s hindquarters at some point in her life has, over time caused severe sensitivity and pain in her hindquarters. Magnolia has had bi-weekly acupuncture treatments at NTVS since 5/18/07. Cindy tells us that when Magnolia gets home from her treatment, she moves easier and without as much pain, she eats better, wants to be petted, and rarely has constipation anymore. In conclusion Cindy tells us, “I can tell she feels better”.

Marge Naughton and "Bumper"

Bumper is a 23yr old Appaloosa gelding who was diagnosed with Glaucoma in April 2007 at UT Knoxville. It was at Ohio State that Marge was informed that Bumper would not be a good canidate for surgery, but that equine acupuncture my bring relief to him. Bumper's first traditional Chinese medical exam and acupuncture treatment was in late October 2007. Before acupuncture, Bumper's Inner Ocular Eye Pressure (IOP) was 85mm/Hg. Immediatly after his first treatment, his IOP was 70mm/Hg. Bumper's IOP is measured before and after each acupuncture treatment, and today he maintains an IOP of aprox. 50mm/Hg. Bumper is aslo being treated with TCVM herbals. Marge comments by saying, "Acupuncture and Chinese herbals are together, and excellent treatment option for Bumper."
